Q: Can I apply in a different language?

A: Most jobs at The Setai require employees to read and speak some English in order to properly serve our guests; therefore, the application process must take place in English.

Q: How do I know my application was received?

A: Once you submit your application, you will be brought to a page that informs you that your application has been received. You will also receive an e-mail confirming this.

Q: How long will I have to wait to hear from someone after I have applied?

A: We will make every attempt to respond to all applicants no later than one week after the application has been received. In many cases, this timeframe will be even shorter.

Q: Can I attach my resume to the online application?

A: Yes, and you are encouraged to do so in order to allow us to evaluate you as thoroughly as possible. Kindly attach your resume in either .doc or .pdf format when completing your online application.

Q: Can I apply for more than one job?

A: We strongly discourage applicants from applying for multiple jobs, and ask that you kindly apply for the job that most closely matches your experience, skills and qualifications. If you find that you may be interested in other positions, please indicate this in your (single) application. If you are notified that you are not being considered for the job you applied for, you may then apply for a different one if you wish.

Q: What if I don't see the position I want to apply for?

A: Most likely, the position is not currently available. Our openings are updated daily, so you are encouraged to check back regularly in case it becomes available. It is also possible that the job may be known under a different title than you are used to. By clicking on each position, you can review a basic job description to ensure you are applying for the right position.

Q: How can I find out the pay for a position?

A: Wages are discussed during job interviews.

Q: Do I need former hotel experience in order to get hired?

A: While hotel experience is not required in order to become an employee of The Setai, it is helpful. Personality, presence and work ethic are three characteristics that set successful applicants apart from the field, in addition to high-end service experience.

Q: Will The Setai sponsor me for a work visa?

A: This is handled on an individual, case-by-case, basis.

Q: I am looking for a short-term internship, but don't see anything posted. Do you offer such positions?

A: In general, The Setai does not offer any positions shorter than 6 months (only during high season in winter) nor does it offer summer internships. Occasional exceptions are made, however.

Q: I have heard about The Setai's Management Trainee Program. How do I apply?

A: The Setai is well known for its Management Trainee Program. It is generally made available for recent graduates of reputable hotel schools, and lasts for 18 months. For more information, please contact the Human Resources office directly.

Q: Will I be considered for employment if I live out of the city/state/country?

A: Our strategy is to find the best employees for our hotel—period. Therefore, all applicants will be considered. However, please be aware that you may be required to visit our office for interviews during the recruitment process. For non-management positions, this would be at your own cost.
