Job Purpose
Responsible for taking In Room Dining telephone orders for guests and residence owners. Responsible for the up-selling of food and beverage.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of one years experience as an Ordertaker or within In Room Dining in a luxury hotel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Spoken English must be clear and concise.
  • Second language skills.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to handle multi task.
  • Basic computer (Micros) knowledge is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food & beverage items.

Job Responsibilities
  • Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform.
  • Answer phones within three rings and in accordance with operating standards.
  • Take telephone orders following hotel standards.
  • Take inquiries for private functions and report to a designated manager.
  • Keep accurate, updated information about the hotel and food and beverage outlet.
  • Explain all food and beverage items in detail, including pricing and ingredients when requested.
  • Up sell menu items.
  • Ensure all relationships with guests, residence owners are professional.
  • Input orders correctly into computer system and ensure kitchen is informed of any amendments required to a menu item.
  • Post guest checks, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the In Room Dining office is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Take inventory of In Room Dining office supplies.
  • Organize guests profiles daily.
  • Attend daily briefings and training as required.
  • In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your Manager.
  • Keep “86” items list updated.
