Department Mission Statement
The main responsibility of the Sales Department is to assist and perform all sales activities (i.e. promoting, selling and developing new and existing accounts with a view of accomplishing department objectives, company mission and goals).

Job Purpose
The Sales Manager is responsible for selling accommodation and other services throughout assigned market areas.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of sales and marketing experience in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proven sales skills.
  • Relevant sales or hospitality degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the competitive market.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for telephone and personal sales calls on accounts in assigned market areas, prospect for new clients and maintain current relationships, as well as data-base development.
  • Follow up in a timely manner to support telephone and personal sales calls.
  • Negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client needs.
  • Evaluate, solicit, sell and confirm business as required to meet individual goals and overall budgeted sales and profitability.
  • Maintain an effective plan of correspondence.
  • Participate in sales meetings and related industry specific organizations to represent the hotel, as well as network amongst the community.
  • Have a complete working knowledge of the local competition and National/Global competition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and behavior at all times when representing the hotel or company.
  • Travel as required within the assigned market areas to establish and maintain business relationships.
  • Conduct tours of the property as required, including Familiarization trips and educational sites.
  • In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your Manager.
  • Evaluate marketing opportunities within distribution channels and outside resources to increase awareness and revenue.
  • Evaluate corporate, entertainment as well as group contracts, and maintain production and repeat business.
  • Maintain report of daily activities including pre/post reports for sales calls.
