Job Purpose
Responsible for retrieving wines from the cellars during service and delivering them to the Sommelier on duty and or the corresponding service stations. Responsible for the overall up-keep of cellar organization and cleanliness, assist in receiving and restocking inventory.
Skills / Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum five year experience in a hotel or fine dining restaurant.
- Extensive knowledge of wine.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Able to handle a fast paced environment.
- Able to carry more than 50 pounds.
Job Responsibilities- Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform.
- Ensure proper storage of all wines.
- Ensure the organizational integrity and assist in inventory control of all cellars.
- Ensure proper labels and vintages are being maintained.
- Report any discrepancies between cellar-inventory and wine-menus.
- Restock service bars with wines as needed.
- Assist in maintaining par levels.
- During service, retrieve and run wines to the various points in the Restaurant and Grill for serving.
- In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your Manager.
